Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Ours was jammed packed with lots of fun stuff (which was my goal before I go back to my first full week of work tomorrow after a super long holiday vacation. Wa waaaa.)
On Friday night, Tyler and I went to see This is 40 with a Groupon I had. It was really funny but a little on the long side. I was hoping that Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl would make an appearance, but no such luck. Still pretty hilarious in my opinion!
Saturday started out as a lazy morning with coffee then a workout on the treadmill with challenging routine from Iowa Girl Eat’s blog, but luckily Father of the Bride was on to help pass the time! (Sidenote: I am SO happy I found these treadmill workouts. They really challenge me and keep it interesting, which is helpful on the “dreadmill.”)
After that, I got ready for the day and Tyler and I went to run some errands. I wore this Columbia puffer vest out and about this weekend and it was nice and warm! I found it on clearance at Marshall’s…and I never seem to have luck there so I was happy!
Vest: Columbia, from Marshall’s
Shirt: Old Navy
Jeans: American Eagle Outlet
Boots: Aldo
Watch: NY&Co Outlet
Then we headed up to meet an old friend from college. We were both business majors and also soccer teammates back and ended up living relatively close to one another after graduation.
After checking out my friend’s new place and visiting her adorable dog named Mr. Puppy, we grabbed some dinner at a an English pub called Toad Hall. This place is AMAZING. For one thing, their menu is hilarious, with menu items like “I’ve Got 99 Poblanos…” But after much consideration, I ended up going with the Tator Tot Pie.
Yes, it was heaven on a plate. It’s a huge helping of homemade coffee stout chili, covered in tater tots, cheddar cheese and sour cream. SO fantastic…
After stuffing ourselves, we headed over to the Curling Club where my friend is in a curling league. She is really good. Don’t be surprised if you see her in the Olympics in the near future :-)
To top it all off, my brother-in-law came to our house to watch the Packers playoff game. I made the SUPER delicious taco cupcakes for the guys…
And for lunch on Sunday for football day two, I continued the food-in-a-cupcake-tray theme and made these Mini Corn Dog muffins. YUM.
Yep, a food coma pretty much summed up my weekend now that I think about it! Time to hit the treadmill hard this week! What were you up to this weekend?
Go Pack Go! :-)
You had a delicious weekend! Tater tot pie? Nacho cupcakes? I think I just started drooling on my keyboard :) And LOVE your puffy vest!
