Besides a serious stash of leggings (my “work clothes”) and a pair of dress pants in navy and black for dressier occasions, my go-to pants are denim. I’ve got a few pairs in colors that go with everything: my trusty Madewell jeans (in dark and classic wash), olive from Target, gray from Old Navy, white from Old Navy and black from Gap Factory. Each of these can be paired with literally any color and can be worn across seasons- rolled up to be more capri-like in summer, and layered with taller boots in fall/winter.
Case in point: I paired my gray pair with an ivory scalloped top (I have a thing for scalloped edges on clothes, evidently), and added a blazer when I wore this to church to dress up the jeans a bit more. And since it was Easter time, I added my mint flats because, well, pastels and Easter go hand in hand, right?
What kinds of pants are in your closet? Any other colors you find to be staples?
