On any given week day when I’m not at work, you can probably find me in workout clothes, possibly having worked out in them or trying to find a way to squeeze one in. But on those rare days when I get a workout in early and have showered and changed my clothes, you will find me in comfy casual clothes like this: a cotton (striped, of course) dress, an optional layer like this chambray button up, and some neutral flats…oh, and a diaper bag to hold all.the.kid.things. The result is a comfy, casual ensemble that doesn’t take a ton of thought, but shows that I am somewhat put together…that’s my hope at least!
The chambray top is a light weight layer that is perfect when you don’t need something as heavy as a jean jacket. I wore it over the dress, tied around the waist and then tied the ends for three different looks, which can take you from warmer days into chillier temps as fall approaches. And the fact that it’s cotton is awesome because it’s easy to care for and wash when spills or messiness happens…which is often :-)

How do you transition pieces from summer to fall?
Next time, I might swap out the cutout flats for my booties and add a scarf…and something pumpkin flavored, obviously.

I love the ways you styled your chambray shirt! A chambray shirt and a stripe dress are perfect staples to have!
I love the different ways to layer with the chambray shirt. I’m wearing a cotton striped dress today! So comfy and stylish. Also your home looks adorable!
