Guys, I’m on the bandwagon for building a capsule wardrobe. Wondering more about it? I think Audrey’s post does a great job of explaining it.
The idea of paring down to pieces that are all remixable with one another is so compelling to me, especially after having a kiddo. Can we say decision fatigue?! Let’s face it: everyday we are bombarded with all kinds of decisions to make, from strategic work decisions to what to make for dinner, how to decorate the house, what books I’ll read to Bryce at bedtime, etc. So, having to make less decisions on what to wear helps me to focus on engaging on the truly important things. And heck, if I save money along the way- even better! (That’s my hope, anyways.)
I feel like half the battle was figuring out what color palette to go with. I don’t know why it was so hard for me to figure out, but my closet is definitely centered on neutrals- black, white/cream and gray. This outfit is a perfect example of this. Instead of buying bold prints or bright colors, I’m gravitating towards more plain pieces, and adding a fun accessory like the necklace if I want a pop of color. It works, it’s easy, and I’m enjoying remixing my closet when I have less options to choose from. It’s weird but I feel like I have more options with less items. So freeing!
What color scheme do you have going on in your closet? Would you try a capsule wardrobe?

Are you going to share the entire wardrobe? I love those posts!
I’d love to at some point!
Awww I cannot wait to see the entire capsule wardrobe picks. I always love black&white. It is classic, elegant and understated. You look great Valerie.
Welcome by on Thursday and link this up with me. Thanks ❤️ Ada.
It’s definitely a work in progress, but I’m excited about it!
I tried a capsule and it honestly did not work for me! I have learned to shop smarter and not just get something because of the price though! It’s a great way to see what you love or even see if you can do a capsule wardrobe!
