Well, hello May! So I went a bit crazy this month and took advantage of the Memorial Day sales and stocked up. A few thoughts:
-About a month post-baby, many of my clothes don’t fit quite yet, so I need some “in between” items to hold me over. I feel like this month’s purchases make for a great capsule wardrobe– especially the J.Crew pieces- very remixable! (Speaking of, did you enter the $200 J. Crew gift card giveaway yet?)
-I did a major closet purge this month. As a result, I realized I was missing casual wear. I have plenty of blazers and pencil skirts, but nothing practical for my current lifestyle. Very pleased with the casual pieces I picked up this month.
-Because of said closet purge, I sold lots of pieces on eBay and at consignment store. Between those sales, gift cards and some blogging income, all of my purchases were “covered” so to speak. Woo hoo!
-I scored some great deals on eBay that were half off or more: Athleta tops- wear them ALL the time, Citizens of Humanity jeans, J.Crew field jacket. I blame it on the downtime I have while pumping :-) To be fair, these are great investment pieces that will get tons of wear.
-In terms of c/o or sponsored items, I grabbed some cute & comfy pajama pants from Shopbop. Let’s face it- I wear pajamas half the day anyways!

I’m right there with you in needing some inbetween clothes. I’m 3 weeks post baby. I love your choices, especially the shorts!
The shorts are great! (They are a little short for my liking…they make a 5 inch version but those felt too long so I was able to adjust the hem on the 3 inch ones I got and they are PERFECT now!) And congrats to you too!
Wow, you scored some AMAZING deals! I love the J Crew jacket.

Thanks Alecz– I love the jacket too! So much so I got it in olive and navy…but I know I’ll wear both a lot!
Loving all the basics, you’re a girl after my own heart!
Thanks Mattie!
Just to clarify, you got two field jackets this month? Excellent prices either way, nicely done.
That’s right Cassie- one from JCF, the other is the J.Crew version. Different colors of course- I upgraded the two jackets I currently had and am selling them on eBay. Thanks!
Love the embroidered top and jacket! You really got some amazing, versatile pieces!
Me too! They had the embroidery top in a few fun prints, but figured I’d get more mileage out of plain chambray. Already wore the jacket, despite the warm weather too haha!
You picked up a lot of great basics! I really like the black dress from ON and the simple stripe tee.
Thanks Jessa! That was definitely my goal..lots of great mix & match pieces to work with now!
I love all your JCF purchases! And you’re so right–they all mix and match perfectly, just like a capsule wardrobe!
Thanks Caroline– that’s exactly what I was going for!
Yessss, I love the versatility here, Valerie! Well done this month!
Thanks so much Brynn! I tried hard to make a mini capsule wardrobe that I could remix in my in-between size post baby!
