So here’s a little weekend recap: Friday night the hubs and I laid low but Saturday I did a challenging but fun workout led by my friend Kim at a local studio. There were several other bloggers in attendance, and we had a great time doing a kettlebell and boxing workout, followed by a delicious lunch. So nice to meet up with these ladies!
From L to R in photo above: Lauren, Britt, Kelly, Amy, Kim, Erin, Sara, me!
In the evening, my husband and I met another couple for dinner out and drinks/dessert back at our place. Our friends were just married a few months ago, and we reminisced about our first dates, our proposals, weddings, etc. We even re-watched our first dance video where my husband and I surprised our guests with a choreographed dance to a mash up of popular songs…it was SO.MUCH.FUN and I’ll never forget it. Watch it here.
Sunday was spent grocery shopping and preparing for the next wave of the polar vortex (so over it) and general laziness, which was much needed since I’m still sore from Saturday’s workout!
In other news, I’ve put together another remix on a classic item: a shift dress. This one from Target is currently on clearance for under $20, and can be worn several ways: under a blazer or cardigan, over a button up, and under a cardigan.
Look #1: a winter look with tights and a tweed blazer. Details/full post here.
Look #2: Layered look with a classic white button-up underneath and a fun belt.
Button-up: Ann Taylor Outlet: similar, similar
Belt: The Limited (out of stock, but similar option)

Look #3: layered in a bright, contrasting colored cardigan and belted. Clearly, this was before #chiberia and the Arctic Tundra moved in… Full post here.
Have any memorable first date, proposal or wedding stories?
(Our first date and proposal were rather funny, but I’ll save that for another post!)

Ha ha ha! I LOVE your video of the dance mash-up! Did you guys choreograph that yourself, or did you have help? :) You guys have some MOVES!
We had a surprise song at the end of our ceremony. You might not know it if you haven’t seen Star Wars, but it cracked people the hell up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14mkdSJ_zDI
So happy I got to see you this weekend! And what a fun weekend! I love reminiscing with close friends like that! :)
We choreographed ourselves and my BIL helped string together the music. Of course, I got inspiration from Youtube on some of the moves :-) And I LOVE that you guys used a Star Wars song! (Such a beautiful venue by the way and I LOVE the bridesmaids dresses- you guys are so cute!) Can’t wait till the next group hangout/workout!!
Such a great dress! I think I’ll have to stop by Target today, fingers crossed it’s available in black.
Good luck- I hope they have some in store! Otherwise Target.com is a safe bet!
This dress is such a great piece! I love the three ways you styled it, especially with the yellow cardigan. It’s a great color combination! Thanks for sharing with Mix it Mondays! ;)
Thanks Lauren! I think the mustard cardi gives it a “fall” vibe for sure! Love your link up! :-)
Love this dress, such a great color. All the ways you wore it are perfect!

Thanks so much Yi-chia! Can’t go wrong with a basic shift dress!
Love all those outfits! And it was fun to see you this weekend, for sure.
Thanks Erin! Love that black wrapped belt from The Limited- glad I copied off of you and bought it! :-)
The dance is AMAZING!
Thanks Katie! It was fun to rewatch it again…and remember how much we practiced!
Great dress and remix. Very versatile. Sounds like a great night. I like thinking back to when we first met. So much fun.

Thanks Mandi- I think the belt really pulls it together for sure!
Awww, I loved your video!! :) Too cute :) I liked the ways that you styled this dress as well. I have a couple of similar ones that I can borrow some of these ideas for!
