So I know I’m a little late in getting this out, but better late than never, right?
Here is the review of my March Birchbox! (If you are wondering what a Birchbox is, click here to learn more.)
MAKE Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Purple Sage, full size is $18
I am loving this eyeshadow! It is super small (the compact is the size of a quarter) but I can see it lasting me a really long time. The color is a beautiful deep purple but doesn’t look loud or crazy- it looks more like a neutral tone on my skin- love it! It holds up well during the course of a work day (although I use a eyeshadow primer from Clinique to start with.)
This primer has SPF 30 in it, which is a an added bonus to a primer. The primer is white, but blends in clear. However, I wore it a couple of days and I noticed a shiny film on my face the days I wore it. I felt like a greasy kid and probably could have filled up a couple of those oil blotting papers easily. Sorry for the overshare! That said, I’m sticking with my usual primer, which is the Prime Time Foundation from BareMinerals. I LOVE it and it really makes my makeup last and gives me an even complexion. Having a primer is a must have in a makeup bag!
This cute nail file has a floral print on one the rough side for shaping and filing down breaks or snags, plus a smoother face to gently finish nail edges. It is a full sized nail file but I would definitely carry it in my purse because it is so springy!
I wasn’t really aware, but traditional shampoos rely on sulfates to create a thick lather. As a result, they can be incredibly harsh and drying on color-treated hair which needs moisture the most. But this shampoo is formulated without sulfates to ensure that it removes buildup without stripping color. My hair is color-treated so I needed something like this to make my highlights shine through! Plus, it has a citrus scent that I really like! As a coupon junkie, I don’t know if I want to pay $22 for shampoo, so I think I will try to find a cheaper sulfate-free brand or just stick with my once a week routine of using my hair cleansing shampoo from Redken.
