Last month in my clothing budget recap, I said I was going to try to reel it in and I feel like I did–and the numbers don’t lie! I also knew I had some income coming in this month from blogging to treat myself with, which was awesome.
Now that I am on week 4 of my 20×30 summer remix challenge, I feel like I am MUCH more aware of what I should be buying, so I feel like my budget reflects that more than previous months. Last month, I knew I wanted a jean jacket, so this classic dark wash, stretch jean jacket made it into my closet. (I did receive a jean jacket in my July StitchFix, but the wash was too light for my liking. And speaking of StitchFix, you’ll see in my review that I ended up not keeping anything from my latest fix. Nothing in my fix was worth keeping in my opinion…but now I have a board with some of my favorite items so next month could be a different story!)
Otherwise, I had been eyeing the SheInside blazers for a long time and finally ordered one…still isn’t here yet but I know this will be a super versatile item in my closet (the black earrings from SheInside were thrown in to get free shipping). The J.Crew Factory necklace was on final clearance and was SUPER cute…I feel like I was missing a summer statement necklace so this filled the void. And then there’s Fabletics. I LOVE their workout gear! The Vaasa sports bra is super comfy and cute and looks awesome with the white top with mesh back– perfect for Pure Barre class! CUTE! I love all of your picks for July and I also love how you set up a budget each month. This is something I definitely need to do to better track my spending :)
Thanks Becky! It really helps me stay conscious of what I’m spending, and gauge my needs vs. wants so I know what I need to fill holes in my closet!
Stopping by from Confident Tuesday…Loved reading your budget post! You picked up some really cute pieces and great deals!

Thank you so much Jill- I appreciate you reading and hope you come by again!
So many cute pieces. I’m excited to see your new white blazer on you.
Thanks Ginny! Hope it comes in the mail ASAP- can’t wait!
I’ve never purchased anything from sheinside so I can’t wait to see how that blazer works out for you! It looks super cute!
I’ll be sure to do a review–can’t beat the price! (still waiting for it to arrive!)
Well done Valerie!!!!!! Great pieces. Looking forward to seeing you style the white blazer.

Thank you Agi! I can’t wait to get it in the mail…hopefully any day now!
LOVE YOUR STRIPED HOODIE! Seriously cute… and the white boyfriend blazer is amazing too!
Thanks Rachel- can’t beat that price either!
You’ve added some great pieces. A denim jacket is a classic piece you can keep forever. And that’s a cool racer back bra. I’ve never shopped at SheInside but I can see they’re a great place to shop for fun pieces w/o spending too much, especially for trendy jewelry. I’ll def be checking them out :-)

Thanks Ele! I am still waiting for the earrings/blazer to arrive from SheInside, but you can’t beat the price for some nice trendy jewelry and classic blazers!
I’m SOOO intrigued by the Sheinside blazer. I want to see it in real life so I’m really excited you ordered it. I just ordered this one from Target so we’ll see how I like it.
Also, I’m continually impressed that you make that much income off the blog and consignment. You need to give me tips on how to make that happen. Blog pow-wow and puppy play date? Chewie loves other dogs now!
Still waiting for it to arrive…shipping from China takes forever evidently but will definitely do a little review on the blog! Hope it fits well– can’t beat a nice blazer for $30ish bucks!
And to be fair, I had two back-to-back months of awesome income. So rare I feel. This month, I did a focus group through Smith Research (locations in Chicago I think!) and was selected and got $115 cash! Very interesting to be a part of those. Naturally, I put that income to blogging/clothes hahaha!
And YES to blog/dog date!!! I’ll take a peek at my calendar and let you know! I’ve had it on my list to reach out to you for a while but summer has been crazy!
I love that you have a budget! It’s definitely a wise thing to do

Thanks Tallia- it’s a great way for me to help keep my clothing spending on track and to see how my style evolves and which pieces I truly need vs. want in my closet!
I have that same Fabletics tank in purple, and I love it. Their tanks barely come out of the wash before I wear them again. So we will have to put our heads together and pick a good outfit for next month!
AGREED! We will touch base tomorrow on the 1st of the month- woo hoo!
I love the jewelry you bought this month–both the necklace and earrings are so pretty.
I have the coral version of that SheInside blazer, and I’ve been really satisfied with it. Definitely one of the comfier blazers I own :)
Thanks Caroline! I’ve already worn the necklace a few times! And I’m glad to hear you like your SheInside blazer…still waiting for mine to arrive- hoping it’s true to size?
That’s a great denim jacket! I’ve been looking for one myself, but I haven’t had a chance to check out Old Navy yet.
xo Kimi
I would- affordable and classic…and it has stretch to it, which I love!
I’ve thought about ordering that white blazer for awhile but curious if it is true white or off-white and the sizing. I usually wear an XS at places like Target, Old Navy, etc. so I was a little concerned it will be too big. Interested to see what you think!
I was curious too- saw it on a lot of bloggers and wanted to try it out since it was such a great price. I am still waiting for it to arrive but will definitely do a review on the blog!
I’m so glad you got that striped hoodie – I had it sitting in my online cart for ages, but wound up never getting it because I really don’t need anything else casual like it. I still totally love it, though!! And I’m glad you got a denim jacket that fits your criteria well – I tried it on at the store a while back and really liked how it felt on! And a white blazer seems to be a great piece. You always look so great in blazers, and I like this one a lot!
I love the hoodie- it’s a casual look that’s a step above my old frayed college sweatshirts! And I love that the denim jacket has a bit of stretch- must have for me! And hoping the blazer comes soon- takes forever to ship from China apparently!
That striped hoodie looks so cut
Sorry -my cat walked over the keyboard – the correct message is below :)
That striped hoodie looks so cute!
Haha no worries Anna Belle- thank you so much! It’s pretty comfortable too!
oh that striped hoodie is taunting me on all the blogs! lol. i want it, but i dont want to pay $26 (with shipping, thats what it is right now)
It’s such a fun hoodie! Here are a couple options to bring the price down:
1- sign up to receive Old Navy email and get 10% off (if they don’t have a percent off deal going on now…they always do have something from week to week)
2- Sign up for Ebates and you get 7% off your purchase on top of #1 above! My referral link: http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=Cl71%2FKzTGkapMMlW7CfIRA%3D%3D&eeid=26471 (I did a post on how to use Ebates if you aren’t familiar with it- just search my blog)
And if in doubt, just wait it out- they will bring the price back down again! Good luck Kristen!
