I’ve had my share of facials over the years. By no means did I go regularly, but if there was ever a great deal or I received one as a gift, I’d definitely take advantage. This week, I was treated to my first ever HydraFacial, and boy oh boy was I impressed. In fact, it’s the only facial I’ll go for from now on. Check out my post to learn why…
A Younger You MedSpa has two locations in Wisconsin: Burlington (where I am doing laser hair removal, more on that here), and Brookfield, which I had never been to until I tried this facial. It’s a gorgeous space with tons of great shopping and restaurants surrounding it. 
The staff was very warm and inviting, and brought me in for a consultation of my skin, and review my skincare routine/history. The took photos of my face using their in-depth Visia technology and it showed me where I had the most spots, wrinkles, texture, pores, UV spots, brown spots and red areas. That helped them make recommendations for skincare products and procedures that were completely tailored to my skin. After reviewing these various categories, the technology took all that into account and told me my “TruSkin Age” which was just 4 years older than what I currently was. I’m ok with that!
The weirdest (coolest?) part was the video simulation that shows your face at age 18 then fast forwards till your 80s assuming you did no other skincare routine from the time of the photos. I’ll spare you that video but it was SUPER neat and bizarre at the same time to see the aging process! Just wild.
After that, we went into the treatment room for the HydraFacial itself. I took off my shoes, laid down and got cozy with a blanket and had my hair wrapped up and out of the way and was ready to give it a go. The HydraFacial itself is done with this magic wand type tool. The way I’d describe it is a Hoover-like vacuum tool that does it all. It’s described as a 4 in 1 vortex treatment that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, and delivering serums to the skin (and you can even customize it and have boosters added like anti-aging, spot correcting, etc.). This video really sums it up well, along with this website.
Abbi did a great job explaining step by step what was going on. It wasn’t painful but a couple parts were a bit uncomfortable here and there (i.e.-extractions) but at least I know it’s working! (And was MUCH less painful than the standard extractions with that stick like tool that I was accustomed to.)
At the end, she showed me the collection tube that started out empty, but after the facial collected the impurities, it was filled with a murky gray liquid (eew, I feel gross). It even had a blackhead floating around in it.
All in all, I was SUPER impressed with the facial. It might cost more than a standard facial but for what it does, it combines several procedures into one (not only the cleansing/extraction but microdermabrasion, chemical peels, etc.) and made my skin so happy walking out of there. Super hydrated, happy skin.
There is also no down time after the facial. I had envisioned walking out of there like that scene from Sex and the City with Samantha’s red face after a chemical peel and that was so not the case! I’d highly recommend giving this a try.
They took before and after photos from the facial and those, along with my Visia skin info and product/service recommendations are all stored on a private account on a platform called TouchMD, which I thought was great to look back at because you can never remember all the info they tell you!
A Younger You also offers memberships which gives you a great savings on a variety of services. But even better, if you are available on Monday, September 26th from 4-7pm- you can go to their Red Carpet event in Brookfield! Every year, they have an event at both locations (Burlington’s was earlier this week). It is a fun and casual party in which you can meet their team and learn about their services. There is pricing (so good, in fact, I’ve heard people wait all year to for this to buy their services/products), giveaways, food and refreshments!
