I don’t know about you, but I have a slight obsession with kate spade new york. I have a few bags in my collection, and as part of last month’s clothing budget, I treated myself to a watch that I wear every day. I love my collection thus far—it’s chic and timeless, well made and high quality. But I have NEVER paid full price for any of my kate spade pieces. No way! There are so many ways to find a great deal without breaking the bank, so I’ve compiled a list on how to save on kate spade! (Please note, some of these contain my affiliate link. If you click or create an account, I will get a small referral bonus. This is not a sponsored post—I just love kate spade and wanted to share my sources with you!)
1) Hautelook
Hautelook is an online retailer that was purchased by Nordstrom. They offer members limited-time sales on clothing, accessories, kids’ items, home decor, and beauty products. You have to sign up (for free) to be a member to get access to their deals. I’ve seen great sales on brands like Nine West, Philosophy and you guessed it- Kate Spade. I haven’t used Hautelook yet, but the prices are incredible!
2) Gilt
Gilt provides instant insider access to today’s top designer labels, at up to 60% off retail on items for women, men, kids and home as well as exclusive local services and experiences. Sales are first come, first served since it’s an “online flash sale”. I just snagged this gorgeous crossbody for $89, regularly $178! And if you use my link to sign up, you will get $25 off your first purchase (and I get $25 too!) Win win!
3) eBay
eBay is a great way to find deals on kate spade items. I’ve gotten a couple of bags this way, as well as my watch! Just be sure you look closely at the photos, consider purchasing from sellers with an outstanding feedback history, read descriptions thoroughly and ask the seller a question if you are still unsure. You can always start at the kate spade website to see the name of the bag you want, then type it in at eBay. (That way, you can also compare photos of the bag to ensure the finishes, lining, etc. are the same to be sure you are getting a 100% authentic one!)
4) kate spade surprise sales & outlets
Every so often, kate spade offers “surprise sales” on their website. The deals are reasonable and all you have to do to get access to the sale is enter your email and zip code. I recommend you sign up on their website to receive email and you will get notice of the sales too! And did you know that kate spade has outlets? Yep! I’ve been to one just once and found the prices to be a little on the high end, but their clearance sections, combined with sales would definitely help bring the price down to a nice bargain! To find one in your area, search here and select “outlet” on the left-hand side.
5) ebates
I use ebates all the time when I am shopping online to earn cash back on my purchases. I wrote a blog post about it here. It’s free to join and all you have to do when you are shopping online is go to ebates.com, select your store, shop away and you’ll earn a percentage of cash back at that retailer in the form of a quarterly check! (And right now, they are offering new members a $10 gift card to Macy’s, Walmart, Target or Kohl’s just to sign up!) Right now, they offer 5% cash back at Gilt, up to 1% at eBay, and 3.5% at kate spade, among hundreds of others!
Where else do you go to find kate on the cheap?
And a few reminders…

I’m all about the outlet mall, that way I know what I’m getting is the real deal.
Very true- can’t go wrong there!
I love the Kate Spade outlets and they just opened one near me! I used ebates when I got my two bags as well. It was a great deal!
OMG- I just found out that KS has an outlet just over the border from me…this could be dangerous! I love your Kate Spade bags!
Is that the Pleasant Prairie one? I want to go so much!
YES! (And I did go over the weekend…it’s AMAZING. They were having 50% off and another 20% off handbags…ridiculous!) It took everything in me not to buy something…
Great post! I didn’t know about the surprise sales but will try snag one!

Good luck Marie- hope you find a bargain!
I’m obsessed with Kate Spade but the price tag can definitely do damage so these are great options!! I haven’t heard of Gilt before so thanks for sharing these savings ideas!

Wow, thanks for the tips on how to save. I need to sign up for that ebates! I shop online ALL THE TIME, my son just recently asked my husband, how come Mommy gets so many things in the mail, lol. Might as well make money while doing what I love :)
Hopping over from Tucker Up.
LOL- my husband says the same thing! Even the mailman has commentary on it haha! Definitely sign up for Ebates- so easy..and it’s free money back!
So many great tips! I love buying designer pieces off of eBay. When I know exactly what I am looking for, eBay is perfection.

So true- such great savings to be had if you know exactly what you need- I’ve lucked out a few times on eBay!
If you don’t mind used, you can also try poshmark.com. Its gals like you and me selling clothing/accessory items they don’t use much anymore. I don’t have any kate spade in my poshmark closet, but that’s one of the brands that I have been searching to buy me a handbag. https://poshmark.com/brand/kate_spade
if you are new to poshmark you use the code: BMLYD to get $5 dollar credit.
i am @keilyn30 on poshmark.
also, i think if you spend more than 500 on an item, the “poshmark concierge” authenticates it for you.
That’s a great point Keilyn! I haven’t used Poshmark yet, but friends of mine have and I’ve heard good things. I’ll definitely have to check it out!
What’s your opinion on marshall’s and tjmaxx? I saw a beautiful kate spade bag the other day at marshalls for 150. It said the original price was like 300… I didn’t get it because I’m not sure if they’re like outlet bags or regular kate spade bags. I’m new to kate spade and I’ve been wanting one, I just didn’t know.
thanks.
Thanks for your comment, Mary. I think Marshall’s and TJ Maxx are great places to score designer bags for a steal. I’m not 100% if the bags they carry are discontinued, outlet versions or irregulars, but if you like the style and the condition is good when you see it in store, then it’s definitely worth it! Being able to touch/feel it in the store is a great advantage over buying online so these stores are a good option- just have to be lucky enough to find them in stock and in colors/designs you like–I know they are hard to come by at my local TJ Maxx/Marshall’s. Good luck!
