Whether it’s a rainy day and you are stuck inside, or going on a long road trip or airplane ride this summer, here is a roundup of some fun finds to get your kiddos working with their hands and getting creative with art.
These items can span a fairly large age range. Plus, they make great stocking stuffers or birthday party gifts too!
Dry erase markers // Perfect for those kid art easels, and less mess than chalk. The fine point makes them just like holding a pencil. My son loves to play “teacher” and teach me the letter of the day like his teachers at preschools :-)
Paper roll // A staple for lots of projects- from coloring or painting, to stamp art or making paper airplanes.
Paint set // Washable is key. And this kind doesn’t separate and isn’t too runny.
Mad Mattr modeling dough // Unlike Play-Doh, this stuff never dries out. It’s non-toxic, has no smell and comes in several colors. Bryce got this corresponding tool box for Christmas, and he loves building blocks and making molds with it.
Dot markers // Fun for making art or doing letter or number bingo games!
WikkiStix // We got a small set of these when we were at a restaurant with Bryce, and he loved them. They are reusable and easy to throw in your purse or bag. From making road ways to stick figures, the possibilities are endless!
Paint by stickers // Another no mess option (and quiet, making it perfect for rest or quiet time, church, etc.) and really helps reinforce learning numbers.
Jumbo coloring pad // Large sheets that are easy to tear and work for paint, crayons , markers or most anything else!
Reusable sticker pad // Each sheet features a different scene, and there are tons of reusable stickers that can be used to create a fun scene! Great for fine motor skills too.
Water Wow book // Fill up the little barrel with water, and brush on beautiful colors to create fun art! Perfect for traveling and can be used over and over again.
