Today I’m sharing one of my dessert go-tos I love to make for just about any occasion: graham cracker treats! Whether it’s used for a birthday celebration at school (pre-covid of course), a pick-me-up porch drop off to friends, or a fun dessert to enjoy in lunch boxes, you can customize however you’d like. Portable, portion controlled, what’s not to love?
All you need is graham crackers, almond bark (or chocolate) and your toppings. Easy peasy.
Since we are in full-on fall mode, I went with a tasty combination of candy corn, dry roasted peanuts and pretzels. The sweet + salty combo is SUPER, trust me.
I took graham crackers and broke them in half, then laid them on parchment paper on a baking sheet. Then I melted almond bark in the microwave (you could also use chocolate), and dipped the grahams in one by one. You gotta work quickly or in batches, because you don’t want the almond bark to set before you get your toppings on!
Kids love to help with this by dropping on the toppings…Blake enjoyed eating the toppings before they got to the grahams, but can’t say I blame him!
Once they are topped, pop it in the fridge to let it set for a few minutes, then you can package them up in individual baggies, or in a air tight container.
We love to make these for birthdays and holidays and hand out to friends…Bryce likes to use his favorite colors of sprinkles, and of course, you can use candy, nuts, even dried fruit! It’s an easy to make, fun treat that you can personalize (and justify) for nearly any occasion throughout the year. :-)
