The other day, I received a fun box in the mail from Wantable. Wantable was recently selected as one of the best sample subscription boxes, according to this segment. As a lover of box subscriptions, I was curious to try out this box–especially because they are based out of the Midwest in good ‘ole Milwaukee, WI!
So what is Wantable exactly?
Wantable is a monthly sample subscription box. They currently have 30,000 fans and work to provide our customers with hand picked, curated, boutique makeup and jewelry items in a monthly subscription box.
Here’s where their box is a little different than the other boxes out there: all of Wantable’s products are full size, valued at $80 or more, and the subscription runs at $36/month, or you can purchase a single box for $40.
Wantable is a new startup that launched in August with a beauty category, and they are currently working on a jewelry subscription too! (Jewelry works about the same way as makeup: five to seven pieces that fit your style and look perfectly, valued at $80-$100, for $40.)
How does it work?
In a nutshell, here it is in three easy steps.
1- Choose a category: baubles or beauty.
2- Forever or for now? Subscribe for $36 a month or buy a single box for $40. Subscriptions are shipped automatically each month and can be skipped or canceled anytime.
3- Fill out an option style profile so they can pick out items that fit your style!
And here’s the icing on the cake! If you don’t like your box, you can send it back for a full refund, no questions asked. How’s THAT for customer service?!
I received a beauty box and opted to fill out my style profile first…it contained a great survey with all kinds of specifics on my preferences and only took a few minutes to do:
And then just a few days later, my Wantable box arrived!
Here’s a shot of what I received…they are all full-sized products too!
I got this fantastic water resistant, smudge proof Cailyn eyeliner, which goes on super smooth. I also love that there is a place to protect and store the brush. The brush is also high quality and doesn’t clump up like the cheaper brushes on eyeliner brands you might find at the drugstore. This is definitely going to replace my current eyeliner in my makeup bag!
Regular price: $21 via Amazon
I also got a shimmery gold Lise Watier Glamour Rose eyeshadow which gives just enough glam without being over the top. The compact is adorable and also has a mirror for quick touch-ups.
Regular price: $24 via Lise Watier website
There was also a tube of FACE Stockholm Veil Lipstick in Raspberry that is SUPER moisturizing but unfortunately lacks color–I thought it would go on red since I wanted to try this hue but it goes on quite light. HUGE points for the moisturizing factor, though–really hydrated my lips!
Regular price: $22 via Blush.com
Lastly, I received Unsung blush from Manna Kadar and really love the color- it pops against my skin tone and gives my cheeks a touch of natural rosiness! It goes on smooth and give my face a great glow!
Regular price: $19 via Manna Kadar
And to round it out, I got a tube of Apothederm Firming Serum sample. I haven’t tried it yet, but hope it’s as effective as it claims! It helps refine and firm skin and reduces the signs of aging. It also had a gift card attached (but you have to spend to a certain threshold first.)
Regular price: $56 via Amazon
In the end, my Wantable box contained great products that I intend to incorporate into my beauty routine, and considering the price of everything I got, the box more than paid for itself!

Full disclosure: Wantable provided me with a complimentary box in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.
This is awesome, most especially because I live in MKE!
That’s so wonderful! Yeah I’m all about supporting small business–especially when they are not too far away :-) Thanks for reading Amy!
