There’s something about a cocoon sweater that is so…well, cozy! It is the perfect addition to an outfit when it’s cold outside (especially when it’s down to the single digits in Chicagoland this week!) I recently pinned this look on my Pinterest Style Board and tried to re-create it with items I had in my closet.
I didn’t realize how much I loved cocoon sweaters until I looked in my closet and discovered three (pink, maroon and burnt orange), all of which are from Target. (I just can’t help it…when I like an article of clothing I get it in multiple colors…especially when it is a good price and it can be worn in several ways!)
Sweater: Target
Lace Top: Nordstrom Rack (old)
Necklace: Banana Republic Outlet (old)
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Aldo
And since I’m clearly on a cocoon sweater high, I wore one again recently in a beautiful burnt orange hue. (And yes, I got my hair done recently..a lot lighter now versus the previous photo!)
Sweater: Target
Ruffle Front Tank: Target (similar)
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Steve Madden via TJ Maxx
I LOVE the tank too…it has so many great colors in it that I can layer with- with my mint drape cardigan, my maroon or pink cocoon sweater or even on its own with khaki skinnies, colored denim or jeans!
Prior to following style blogs, I would have labeled this in my mind as a “summer tank” and would have stored it away under the bed until the warmer temps came around. But I realized that I can rework summer pieces by adding/layering additional pieces like a cardigan or blazer, or add tights to a summer dress to transition the outfit from season to season. Finding ways to rework what you already have is a win-win!
So, back to my Target cocoon sweater addiction…
Do you have multiples of an article of clothing? Please tell me I’m not alone! :-)
the sweaters do look so cozy! I try to avoid multiples just because I usually end up favoring one and never wearing the other, but there are definitely a few in my closet…
You do bring up a good point! I admit, sometimes I have trouble finding things to go with certain colors of the multiple I buy :-)
