Workout log for Week 11 (March 18-24):
March 18: 60 min bootcamp: arm circuits with cardio bursts in between
March 19: rest
March 20: 60 min bootcamp: arm/core circuits alternating with a partner
March 21: 60 min bootcamp: shoulders/biceps- 12 circuits/3x
March 22: rest
March 23: 60 min bootcamp: legs/cardio circuits
March 24: rest
This was the first full week of the 21 Day Skinny Jeans Challenge. Woof! The classes were hard, especially with nasal congestion and a sore throat developing this week.
The goal of the program is to do attend bootcamp 3-5 times per week, so I’m glad I fell within that. I’d say the hardest bootcamp session was on Saturday…it was NONSTOP and super intense! Think: squat jumps, burpees, up downs, jumping jacks, high knees, lunges, cherry pickers, wall jumps, mountain climbers, calf & leg raises….but over and over again.
At one point while doing up-downs with fast feet, I wasn’t dropping all the way to the ground (meaning, my body wasn’t completely flat on the floor.) So the trainer was giving me crap and I told him that I wasn’t doing it all the way because I was trying to catch my breath so I told him, “Gimme a break…I’m just trying to not yack on your floor!” To which he replied…”Hey, that’s what this side door is for if ya need it, now DROP DOWN!!” Ugh….yeah, it totally kicked my butt.
Needless to say, I’m ready to tackle week 2 (hopefully with this awful cold behind me!) I just hope I find some time to get some running in. I plan to run a 10k in a couple of weeks and hope my body will be ready for it! It will be my first race of the year so I’m just looking to run it at a reasonable pace, hopefully finishing in 60 min or less. But with snow in the forecast (whaaat!?) I think I’ll plan a date on the treadmill with some RHOBH. And bootcamp. Lots of bootcamp. Sounds good to me :-)
