Sharing some of my favorites lately, from what I’m reading, to local finds, parenting hacks and more!
1. Parenting Hack
We officially transitioned the bed rails from Bryce to Blake’s bed, but Bryce still needed something to help him not roll out of bed (it happens to him from time to time when he sleeps). Not sure where I saw this hack originally, but it’s a no brainer! Just buy two pool noodles and put them under the fitted sheet on the edges of the bed! Easy, cheap and works so well! (And perfect for traveling vs hauling those big bed rails!)
2. Amazon Beauty Finds
Three products I swear by in my beauty routine:
–Tinkle razors: I use these to get rid of the fine hair on my face, upper lip, etc. It’s a process called dermaplaning. It not only helps my makeup go on so much smoother, but it helps with skincare product absorption. Super cheap too!
–Makeup brush: This brush makes my foundation and concealer go own for a super well blended, airbrushed look without having to rub it in with my fingers. It’s a knockoff of the pricier version out there, Artis. Love mine!
–Curling wand: I’ve tried many curling wands/irons, and this is the only one that seems to give me the best curl and leaves a lasting curl. Curling irons can be quite expensive, but this one is under $35 and works SO well. The extra long barrel is really helpful for hair novices like me too. I follow Madison’s tutorial for curling my hair…takes 5-10 minutes!
3. Spring Style
Nothing like a tie dye top in lighter colors and some incredibly comfy white sneakers to put a spring in my step as the temps get warmer and the daylight lasts longer. I’m SO ready for it!
4. Reading Lately
–The Pour Over: Lately, I’ve been unimpressed in the news on TV for a number of reasons so I’ve stopped watching but still wanted to be informed about current events. I stumbled upon The Pour Over and have been enjoying it so far. They send an email 3x a week with current events and politics that is straight news and includes Bible passages relating to the news stories. It takes 5 minutes to read and helps me stay informed and encouraged!
–Kind is the New Classy & Reshaping it All: I’m a big fan of Candace Cameron Bure, and both of these books are so refreshing with practical tips, motivation and encouragement, plus fun anecdotes! Excited to discuss the latter at an upcoming book club!
5. Local Finds
Adcock Farm & Co. is much like Magnolia Market and The Silos- but in Wisconsin! From baby to women’s clothing/fitness/accessories to bath and body, home decor, and gifts…they have ya covered with THE cutest stuff! Plus, they host a great Farmer’s Market, DIY workshops and other fun events. They just got these adorable pop up flower bouquets, that would make perfect Easter or Mother’s Day gifts! There are six different bouquets to choose from and include a frosted mailing envelope and notecard to sign for just $10 (practically what a traditional greeting card costs anyways!) FYI when you visit, be sure to mention my code Valerie10 for 10% off select items!
