This December, I’ve been going strong with #RWRunStreak, pledging to run at least mile a day from Thanksgiving to New Year’s. On days when I’m short on time and can’t do a full workout, it’s easy to jump on the treadmill for 10 minutes or less. No excuses. But when I really want to add some strength moves to make for a quick, full-body workout, I discovered a fun at-home themed challenge called the “12 Days of Christmas.”
Co-founders Ariana Chernin and Jillian Lorenz of Chicago-based Barre Bee Fit introduced this fun and festive fitness challenge and are revealing each new day on their blog, including how-to videos and how many reps each exercise is for each day.
Yesterday on their blog, they just showed the fourth day of Christmas, which were Candy Cane Kicks. So in addition to the new exercise for the day, you also add the previous days, which so far include:
-4 rounds of Candy Cane Kicks (15 on each leg)
-3 sets of Gift Wrappers (20 on each side) (see explanation here)
-2 30-second intervals of Jolly Jacks (see explanation here)
-and a 1 minute Plank Hold
So, join me and jump in on this fun and festive fitness challenge! It’s a great full body workout that builds on itself each day!
