I’ve found them—the perfect bottoms for wearing in or out of the house: faux leather leggings. The high rise and the faux leather pattern makes them so much more chic—and winter-worthy—than traditional cotton leggings or yoga pants. These leggings are my favorite for days when I don’t want to wear denim but still want to feel put together. They are a chic alternative to active wear and honestly so easy to style once you get an outfit formula in your head. For me, it’s usually a base layer, with a completer piece over it for some length to cover the bum and finish with shoes to match. In all of these looks, I’m wearing a gold necklace which is simple, delicate and adds a finishing touch to any outfit and literally goes with anything! (Check out my minimalist jewelry capsule here.)
ABOUT THE LEGGINGS:
These leggings are comfortable, chic and practical. And they’re on final sale right now in a few colors! I got them at Athleta in black. (Funny story- I won a $50 gift card there at a barre class recently and found these leggings on the clearance rack– meant to be!) I am usually a size 8 or medium in bottoms and got the medium here. They have a slightly looser fit but work just fine.
Another alternative is the ever popular Spanx faux leather legging. I have worn these before and they have incredible powers to suck everything in and are more of a true black vs the Athleta ones, which are technically described as black but have more of a gunmetal gray tint to it. The Spanx ones have quite a bit more compression to them, so I sized up one size in those when I tried them. Shopbop carries the Spanx leggings along with a few other options (one, two, three) that are part of a big sale going on now through Saturday 3/9. Great many ideas for the leggings. Great post, well done!
